China and Japan will fight for the top position of the round robin games after they both won their second game of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2007 International Baseball Tournament today. But unlike in-form China, Japan was pulled in two extras again before it edged out France 4-3.

In yesterday's match, hot seed Japan outlived Czech 3-2 in two extras. Today the Japanese were plagued by a scrimmage again as they paid five innings to tie the scoring at 3-3 and managed to win after another 11-inning marathon.

As the most powerful seed of the tournament, Japan has lost its way in attacking in the two games, only making three more hits than France today.

China seemed to find its offensive position easily this time as they trounced Czech 9-2 in the evening. Despite the turnovers made by the pitcher in the fifth inning, China consecutively scored in the next four.

China didn't waste any of the 12 hits but Czech's 3 were all misplayed.

France will take on Czech for the third place of the group tomorrow followed by the clash for the top position between China and Japan. The fourth round robin finisher has to face off the first in the semifinal.

China never defeated Japan in international events before.
