China thrashed Czech 13-1 in a 7-inning semi to qualify for the final of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2007 International Baseball Tournament at west Beijing's Wukesong Baseball this evening.

"If we win the final, I'll take the team out for a celebration," said James Lefebver, head coach of China after the semi.

Speaking of today's game, Lefebver noted: "We did well in hitting and pitching. It's the key reason to our triumph and I'm pretty satisfied with my players."

Li Lei, who earned China 3 points via a homer in the seventh inning, revealed "Regardless of some mistakes in our defense, we had good pitchers to make up."

Lefebver also attributed today's win to the players who maintained an even temper during the match. "Victory is decided not only by strength but also by attitude and effort. We should keep our form in tomorrow's clash with Japan."

When asked whether China was unstable for they first lost to Japan 7-1 and then trounced Czech 13-1, Lefebver explained: "Our players did well in every game. Beating Czech to make the final means we're making progress."
