On July 31, 2007, Cai Fuchao, member of the Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee and Head of the Publicity Department of the Beijing Municipal Government, Jiang Xiaoyu, BOCOG Vice-President, Xiao Pei and Wang Hui and Shaoshiwei, Head and deputy heads of the BOCOG News and Publicity Department, and Gao Changli and Chen Shuxun, deputy head of the BOCOG Media Operation Department, came to the Wukesong Baseball Field in west Beijing to inspect the preparatory work for media operation of the upcoming "Good Luck Beijing" 2007 International Baseball Tournament and Wrestling World Junior Championships. Present at the venue were Tan Weike, President of the baseball event organizing committee and Secretary of Beijing's Haidian District Party Committee, Jia Mowei, Head of the Haidian District Publicity Department, and venue teams of the two events.

In his speech, Cai Fuchao praised the two venue teams for their thorough and solid work in preparation for the media operation. He said, the "Good Luck Beijing" Sport Events are meant to test the preparatory work for next year's Olympic Games in an all-round way. "As the voice of the mass media makes great influence on the success of these test events," he added, "we must attach high importance on media service and try our best to help them wherever we can."

While asking the venue teams to be effective and professional in their media operation, particularly for those major IF events that draw large numbers of athletes and journalists, Jiang Xiaoyu made special mention of the Olympic News Service and training of interpreters for press conferences throughout the events.

Media chiefs from the Wukesong venue team and the China Agriculture University Gymnasium venue team reported to the BOCOG officials on their preparations for media operation of the International Baseball Tournament and the Wrestling World Junior Championships respectively.
