(BEIJING, August 13) -- Wukesong Baseball Field is ready for the Good Luck Beijing sports events. What makes this temporary venue so extraordinary is the frugality that has been observed throughout the whole process of construction.

A net structure made of steel is used to install the exterior curtain wall of the venue. By the time of the Olympics, vine plants such as red grapevine will climb all over the curtain wall with a 80% coverage rate, creating a unique view on the one hand and improving the local climate of the venue on the other.

Also out of economy, two kinds of spectators' stands were built at the baseball field. Some are equipped with functional rooms beneath the stand. The rest will be entirely temporal, either rented or built on a temporary basis.

With these measures in place, the construction cost of the venue has been controlled and the operation burden the venue is to bear after the game has been greatly reduced.
